Guides
A resume that reads well to people and to applicant tracking systems
Plain layout, honest keywords and one page per job.
Keep the layout plain
Use one column, normal headings such as Experience, Education and Skills, and a standard font. Tables, text boxes, icons and images can scramble the text a tracking system reads.
Use the words the job uses
If the role asks for Postgres and you use Postgres, write Postgres, not only databases. Do not list a skill you do not have. A referrer or interviewer will ask about it.
On ReferMap
We read the resume you upload, keep only the profile you confirm, and delete the file. Your match score for each role shows which of its skills you have and which you could add.
A referral, interview or job is never guaranteed, by us or by anyone.
