How a job referral works

What a referral is, why employers read them first, and how ReferMap connects you with a verified employee.

What a referral is

A referral is when someone who works at a company puts your application in front of its hiring team and says they would work with you. Many companies read referred applications before the open pile, and some pay the employee a bonus when a referral is hired.

A referral, interview or job is never guaranteed, by us or by anyone.

How it works here

Pick a city and a company on the map, choose a role, and send a short note. The employee sees your skills and experience first. Your contact details stay hidden until they accept.

Employees on ReferMap proved they work at the company with a code sent to their work email, and recruiters and HR staff cannot join as referrers. They stay anonymous to you, and you pay ReferMap, never the person who refers you.

What happens to your credit

A request holds one credit. It is only used when the referral is submitted. If the person declines, does not reply in time or does not submit in time, the credit comes back.
